Elsa and Clive, two young rebellious scientists, defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a new organism. Isle of the Damned, originally released in Italy in 1980, brought Giallo under fire yet again by the Italian government, who were outraged by the shocking and real scenes of primitive tribal rituals and cannibalism portrayed in the film. The film has been long out of print, but is presented here in a digitally remastered form.

Essentially a prequel to David Lynch and Mark Frost’s earlier tv series “Twin Peaks”. The first half-hour or so concerns the investigation by FBI Agent Chet Desmond into the murder of waitress Teresa Banks. The film then cuts to one year later and follows the events during one week in the life of Laura Palmer, a story which was later to motivate much of the series. Contains a considerable amount of sex, drugs, violence, very loud music and inexplicable imagery.

An ambitious indie feature created entirely with a St. Louis cast and crew, Shadowland relies on character, tension, and a series of reveals to tell the tragic story of an anti-heroine.
