“Pan’s Labyrinth” is the story of a young girl who travels with her pregnant mother to live with her mother’s new husband in a rural area up North in Spain, 1944, after Franco’s victory. The girl lives in an imaginary world of her own creation and faces the real world with much chagrin. Fascist repression during the first years of Franco’s dictatorship is at its height in rural Spain and the girl must come to terms with that through a fable of her own.

When Bennie finds his brother, the volatile and melancholy poet Tetro, he is not at all what he expected. In the course of staying with Tetro and his girlfriend Miranda, the two brothers grapple with the haunting experiences of their shared past.

In 1988, the abusive and deranged Nun Ursula is the principal of a Catholic boarding school in Barcelona. When she finds that the teenage student Mary is pregnant, she decides “to purify” the girl with water, almost killing her. Her class and dorm mates Joanna, Christine, Eulalia, Zoe and Susan fight with the nun and drown her in a bathtub. The six teenagers dump her body in a lake with holy water and make a pact of silence. Eighteen years later, the spirit of the nun is released from the lake and possesses the daughter of Mary, Eve, seeking revenge against the former students and killing each one of them like their saint patrons did to achieve the forgiveness of God through punishment and penitence, pain and sacrifice.

A historical drama set in Roman Egypt, concerning a slave who turns to the rising tide of Christianity in the hopes of pursuing freedom while also falling in love with his master, the famous female philosophy professor and atheist Hypatia of Alexandria.

Hector is an ordinary man who’s moving to a new house with his wife. One evening, while he’s looking through his binoculars, he sees a naked girl in the woods. He decides to go there just to find that same girl laying on a rock. Suddenly, a man with a pink bandage covering his face, stabs Hector in his arm with scissors. Then a chase starts, leading Hector to a time machine that brings him back nearly an hour in the past. The man in charge of the time machine explains to Hector (Hector 2) that he must not interfere with the other Hector (Hector 1) so he can go into the time machine again. Things complicate, and Hector 2 is hit by a car, injuring his face. To stop the bleeding, he covers his face with a bandage that turns into pink because of the blood. Then Hector 2 realizes he has to stab Hector 1 and chase him to the time machine in order to make things right.

A truck rumbles down a potholed track. In the back sit a group of passengers, their eyes blindfolded. They don’t know each other, but they have a lot in common: they’re young, urban workaholics, with an appetite for extreme experiences. They’ve signed up for a weekend of adventure. As they head out into the unknown, they hear the others breathing in the darkness, steadying their pulses in silence as the adrenaline begins to flow The blindfolds come off to reveal in a dense forest. Each player is equipped with supplies to last the weekend, a powerful paintball gun, ammunition, maps and instructions. They have to complete an adventure trail that takes in ravines, caves and obstacle-ridden trekking paths. The group is split into two teams. The winners will be the team that wipes out their opponents and completes the circuit. They wanted adventure? They got it. Deep in the woods, one group is ambushed. Invisible snipers pin them down in a hail of paint then one of their number collapses, writhing in agony. Red blood mixes with the paint. Confusion reigns. Who is shooting at them? In the silence, they stare round at each other, and into the forest, looking for a traitor or some kind of explanation. The rules of the game have changed. The only law is the law of the jungle, and nobody trusts anybody else. Hidden among the trees, camouflaged by leaves and branches, there are deadly traps. Hunted down like prey in a lethal game, the teams face a desperate struggle for survival. There’s nothing like a brush with death to make you feel alive.

A freelance villain called ‘The Black Lily’ (Umberto Raho) has stolen a new, ultra-powerful type of bomb (’the bloody mary’) from the British Army, and plans to sell it to the highest bidder, with the Chinese being particularly interested. The American Secret Service, though, isn’t happy with this, so call up their top agent, Dick Malloy, to get it back (and deal with villains while doing so). Bizarrely, Malloy seems to know exactly who ‘the black lily’ is, a plastic surgeon who runs a clinic in the French countryside, and luckily enough there’s another agent, Elsa Freeman (Helga Line), who happens to be working undercover there.

With Elsa’s help, Malloy discovers that the bomb is to be shipped from Barcelona to Athens, where it is to be collected by the Chinese. Seizing his chance, Malloy grabs himself a berth on the liner and sets about stealing it back… However, his plans don’t allow for the involvement of a number of Russian agents (who are equally interested in obtaining ‘the bloody mary’) and a traitor in his own camp.

A dramatic thriller that centers on a fish-market employee who doubles as a contract killer.
